HIIT training.. What is it and why is it a great addition to your workouts?
HIIT is an acronym for High Intensity Interval Training, which translates into less time needed for your workout ..and more fat burning!
You will complete intervals of work ranging from 20 seconds to a minute followed by rest or recovery periods.
The benefits?
Improves your cardiovascular health, blood pressure & cholesterol profiles
Improves your insulin resistance, which helps the exercising muscles more readily use glucose as fuel.
You will burn a lot of calories
You will burn a lot of calories AFTER your workout as your body recovers
AND you don’t need fancy equipment. Bodyweight exercises like squats, burpees and mountain climbers can make a fantastic HIIT workout that you can do anywhere.
